Freedom!

I have completed my last day of work! It feels as if a heavy burden has been lifted, with no work responsibilities!

Accepted!

I have accepted my new job offer and have given my current employer my notice of resignation! It was definitely not an easy decision but I hope it was the correct one. Only time will tell.

My manager was definitely upset but after speaking with him, he understood and was supportive of my decision. I told him I found the job on my own and it wasn't through some outside recruiter who just happened to call me (which does happen from time to time). He realized that I was unhappy enough to find the job on my own volition, which meant I was set on leaving.

My team lead, who I've known from my first day of work, was even more disappointed. We had a short discussion and he wanted me to stay, but in the end he understood why I was leaving.

It seems like a lot of people I talk to know of the company that I accepted the job at and even know people that work there, despite the fact that the company is quite small! I guess the microchip design world is small and everyone knows everyone. Therefore, I need to leave on good terms and not tarnish my reputation (in case I ever need to look for another job).

My last day of work is Apr 20, and my start date is Apr 23!
